The West Coast College Atlantis Campus recently hosted a delegation from the Western Cape Education Department (WCED), Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA), and Proteus Technical High School as part of ongoing discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing technical education in the Atlantis community.
The purpose of the engagement was to further explore the establishment of a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Laboratory at Proteus Technical High School. The proposed facility aims to equip learners with access to emerging technologies and future-focused skills that are increasingly essential in today’s rapidly evolving world of work.
This meeting marked the second engagement between the stakeholders, highlighting a shared commitment to fostering innovative education and creating meaningful pathways for skills development among young people in Atlantis.
André Muller, Acting Deputy Principal: Innovation and Development at West Coast College, emphasised the importance of the partnership. “We are looking forward to being part of this project as we continue to not only influence the futures of our own students, but also prospective students from Proteus, and in doing so, make a broader impact on the community,” he said.
West Coast College remains committed to working closely with the WCED, ETDP SETA, and Proteus Technical High School to drive the initiative forward and support the development of a technologically enabled learning environment that prepares learners for the demands of the 4IR era.
