West Coast College proudly congratulates our students who achieved outstanding success at the 2026 WorldSkills South Africa National Competition, Conference and Career Festival.
Among the top performers was Simiso Biyela, a Renewable Energy Skill competitor and student from the Vredenburg Campus, who walked away with the Gold Medal. In addition to this remarkable achievement, Simiso was also awarded the Best of Province accolade for attaining the highest overall results among all members of the Western Cape team.
Liam Abrahams, also representing the Vredenburg Campus as a Welding Skill competitor, delivered an exceptional performance and secured the Silver Medal in his category.
These achievements are a testament not only to the students’ technical expertise, but also to their determination, resilience and commitment to excellence. Competing at a national level, they demonstrated the calibre of skills development fostered at West Coast College and made both the College and the Western Cape Province immensely proud.
The College also extends its sincere appreciation to the campus management, leadership and staff whose dedication and support played a vital role in preparing our students for this prestigious competition.
