APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION
- What is the difference between APPLICATION and REGISTRATION?
You first APPLY and submit all the necessary documents. The College will then process your application. You then need to REGISTER.
- Can I apply if I have only completed grade 9 to study at the college?
Yes, you can apply to study any of our National Certificate (Vocational) or NC(V) programmes that you only need grade 9 to start studying
- Can I study N4-N6 if I have completed my grade 11?
You need to have completed you grade 12 to study any of the N4-N6 programmes at West Coast College.
- Can I apply if I complete matric/grade 12 in 2024 and still waiting on my results?
Yes, you may apply but Final results must be uploaded before final admission will be granted.
- Must returning students apply for the next academic block?
Returning students must apply by 15 November every year to give an indication that they will be returning online.
- What set of documents do I need to complete the Academic application?
The following documents are required:
- Proof of address, ID and Highest results
- Can I still come to the campus to apply and register as in the past?
We would like to encourage all students to apply and register ONLINe. Even if you come to the campus, the online process must be followed.
- What Assistance is available to complete my application?
A How to Guide and Video is available on the website www.westcoastcollege.co.za, on the Student Portal and will guide you through the process.
- How do I upload my documents?
To upload your documents go to the website www.westcoastcollege.co.za, on the Student Portal go to Student enquiry – Certificate seen
- How do I upload my academic report?
A How to Guide is available on the website www.westcoastcollege.co.za on the Student Portal and will guide you through the process.
- Must I do the PACE Assessment?
The Career Interest tst is compulsory and must be completed BEFORE your application will be considered.
The PACE English Literacy and Mathematical Numeracy test may be done on campus during REGISTRATION. An interview will follow where all results will be discussed.
PINS, EMAILS AND PASSWORDS
- Where do I get my WCC email address?
If you are an existing student your email address is:

Password: P@ssword
If you are a new student, you will only be allocated a WCC email after you have successfully registered.
- How do I get my pin?
Existing students – have to request your pin and the pin will go to your WCC email; for first time applicant, the pin was created on application by student
- What does Illegal pin mean?
Illegal pin means that you have entered your pin or student number incorrectly
- Can the college assist me with resetting my pin?
Yes, you can send a screenshot of the problem that you are receiving and then include that with your student number to the following email addresses:

REGISTRATION
- Can I register for the next level of studies before I get my results yet?
No, you need to have your results and passed in order to get access to the register for the next level. Therefore, the Semester student (Returning) N5 and N6 students are able to register and we are in the process of admitting New students to register.
- Can I register online immediately after I have completed an application?
No, you can online register after your application has gone through the selection process and then after you have been selected and informed that you have been selected then only can you register online.
- How do I register for a subject I failed if I am a returning student?
Please consult your campus as all exam only subject registrations are being done manually on the campus.
SYSTEM MESSAGES
- What does the following terms mean?
- Outstanding documents – Student with outstanding documentation
- Do not qualify – not approved for programme
- Provisionally Admitted – Provisionally approved for academic block. You will be notified when to upload updated certified documents or updated results.
- Academically Admitted – May proceed to registration
- Deferred – Your application is pending and you are on the waiting list
- What does the message “The institution has not yet permitted the use of this option to you. Please contact us with your any queries” mean?
This means that the student has not been admitted yet and that the college is still processing your application. The web status will change when you are eligible to continue.

This means that the student has not been admitted yet and allocated a room. The college is still processing your application. The web status will change when you are eligible to continue.
- What does the message “Application prohibited, you have reached the maximum number of application allowed” mean?
This means that the student has already applied for residence.
- What does FIN message mean?
FIN message means that you need to consult with the campus admin. Queries can be sent to the Bursary Clerk per campus.

COMMUNICATION
- What form of communication will the college use to communicate with me?
The college will be communicating with you via your official WCC Student Email and SMS, it is therefore VERY important to keep your email password private and safe.
NSFAS
- How do I apply for an NSFAS Bursary?
NSFAS applications for 2025 must be done online and is currently open.
- Can I register for NSFAS after the NSFAS deadline has closed?
Yes, you can. Applications must however, be done on CAMPUS.
- When does NSFAS applications close?
The portal will close as advertised on the social media pages.
- How can we check on our NSFAS bursary application?
All students must register to MYNSFAS and check their bursary status. Returning and New.
- What documents do I need to complete the NSFAS bursary application?
The following documents are required:

RESIDENCE
- Can I apply for residence at West Coast College?
Yes, you can apply for college accommodation and residence that is available at the Citrusdal, Vredenburg and Vredendal Campus. Accommodation for Malmesbury campus is limited to the Financial Management students. Application must be done ONLINE and note that it is a SEPARATE process.
- Does the college have temporary accommodation for us while we wait for the college to approve my college residence application?
No, the college does not have ANY temporary accommodation for ANY student available while they wait for feedback on their residence application, therefore we will advise that NO student come to the college and expect residence while your application is being processed.
- Must I register for college accommodation or private accommodation?
Yes, once your APPLICATION has been approved, you will receive an sms to say you must REGISTER.
TRANSPORT
- How do I know what routes are available?
Detailed list of transport routes are available on the website.
- Is the transport currently running should I want to visit the campus for assistance with my registration and application?
Yes, limited transport is currently available for students wanting to go to the campus for assistance and support.
