West Coast College together with other TVET Colleges took to the field on Saturday during the Inter-College 7’s Rugby Competition that was hosted by Northlink College during the final days of August 2022. The competition was tight and the games were free flowing and those who watched were treated to some running rugby.
West Coast College’s male and female teams fought their way through their pool matches and although the female team did not make the knock-out stages, the male side reached the finals and played against Northlink College. Unfortunately, Northlink walked away as the champions, but the team left it all on the field and gave it their best.
“I am truly proud of this team. The fact that the students could gel and work together in a time that we see exams and ISATS and everything take place is indeed something to be proud of,” says coach Marinus Engelbrecht.
Three of the male team (Pinto, Dudley, and Alex) have been selected as part of the Provincial Team that will represent the Province in the Provincial Competition that will be held in Gauteng in September.
