West Coast College proudly hosted its 2025 Graduation Ceremonies on 4 and 5 June at the Malmesbury Town Hall, marking a significant milestone for students who completed their qualifications across a range of programmes, including Early Childhood Development (Levels 4 and 5), Community Development, National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4, Apprenticeships, and National Diplomas.

The four-session celebration featured inspirational keynote addresses by:

  • Melissa Parker, Provincial Skills and Partnerships Director at the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT)

  • David Joubert, Municipal Manager of the West Coast District Municipality

  • Bronwin Abrahams, Regional Manager of merSETA

  • Dr Kennedy Dakile, entrepreneur and medical practitioner

Honouring Academic Excellence Across Campuses

A highlight of the ceremonies was the recognition of top-performing students in the NC(V) programmes. Sponsored by SAYDBUC Academic Attire, each of these achievers received a cash prize:

  • Office Administration Level 4: Kaylin Philushca Drushell Willemse – Vredenburg Campus

  • Hospitality Level 4: Asipe Malo – Malmesbury Campus

  • Management Level 4: Mache Millecent Hendricks – Atlantis Campus

  • Education & Development Level 4: Victoria Beukes – Vredendal Campus

  • Engineering & Related Design Level 4: Klarissa Coetzee – Vredenburg Campus

  • Electrical Infrastructure & Construction Level 4: Jaques Francois van Zyl – Citrusdal Campus

  • Primary Health Level 4: Thembeka Mazikwana – Vredendal Campus

  • Tourism Level 4: Zimvo Ngwenze – Vredenburg Campus

The coveted Principal’s Award for the top NC(V) student overall was awarded to Kaylin Willemse from Vredenburg Campus. She received a laptop and trophy sponsored by Cape Book and College Supplies.

National Diploma Graduates Also Recognised

Top-performing National Diploma students were awarded smartphones, courtesy of Cape Book and College Supplies:

  • Business Management: Shinaz Revell Geraldine Cloete – Vredenburg Campus

  • Financial Management: Palesa Lebata – Malmesbury Campus

  • Hospitality and Catering Services: Nolukhanyo Wani – Malmesbury Campus

  • Human Resource Management: Amber Jade Vanessa Cupido – Malmesbury Campus

  • Management Assistant: Sharon Kies – Vredenburg Campus

  • Public Management: Stephan Jean Arendse – Vredenburg Campus

Stephan Jean Arendse was further honoured with the Chairperson’s Award for the top-performing National Diploma student, earning a laptop and a trophy.
