The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has signed an agreement with The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) to establish the country’s in-service Skills Development programme for TVET College Lecturers.

Lecturers from all TVET Colleges were trained in the fields of Electrical Engineering and Plumbing. The main objective of this training project is to improve the quality of Teaching and Learning and to also address shortfalls at TVET Colleges.

Khanyisa Ncokazi, NCV Electrical Infrastructure Construction lecturer from West Coast TVET College Citrusdal campus successfully completed the six-month lecturer development programme. Of the more than 120 participants only ten participants, which included Ms Ncokazi, received virtual reality goggles for their participation at an award ceremony that was held in Pretoria recently.

“I am really happy that I could be part of the program and for the experience, I gained,” says Ncokazi.
