Salary range: R152 862.00 – R180 062. 00 plus benefits per annum 
(Ref. no: WCC 74/17) Senior Academic Manager NCV – Central Office
Salary range: R 453 246.00 – R 457 791.00 plus benefits per annum
Post Level: 5
Permanent position: Subject to 12 months’ probation period.
Basic Requirements: An appropriate Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the post; have a relevant post-graduate degree/qualification in Education and Training; must have five (5) years’ work experience in education and training environment. Be experience as Head of Department or Senior Lecturer in the Education and Training environment; must have experience in working at TVET College in the teaching and learning disciplines; a sound and thorough knowledge of NCV programmes; must have an understanding of DHET’s & College strategic vision and priorities; be knowledgeable of Academic policies and legislation governing TVET Colleges in South Africa; a valid driver’s license; have the ability to engage constructively with people; have excellent communication skills; have very good ambassadorial and diplomatic skills; have the ability to manage a number of competing demands; be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances; be willing and able to exercise judgement and take risks.
Key Responsible Areas: Achievement of the requisite pass rate through the monitoring of assessments, attendance, retention of students and certification; monitor the implementation of Teaching and Learning; monitor the subject improvement plans; monitor implementation of the Tutor system; monitor the standardization of timetables, Sim & workshops; monitor implementation of WBE during the year to achieve the college targets; meaningful participation and support of the College Academic Board; provide strategic leadership regarding the proficient delivery of NCV offering; responsible for the management of assessment process at the College Liaising with all staff e.g.: Heads of Departments regarding tools; monitor the moderation process in all levels; manage the college operations including academic, administration and lecturers for imparting quality programme delivery to students; responsible for NCV programme; formulate strategies and policies related to performance and ensure its implementation and target achievement as per the Monitoring and Evaluation tool; building a strong network of contacts with other institutions and industries; ensuring that day to day operations of the NCV in campuses are effectively and efficiently coordinated; monitor implementation of staff training sessions in conjunction with other managers.

(Ref. no: WCC 75 / 17) Senior Occupational Manager – Central Office
Post Level 5
Salary range: R 453 246.00 – R 457 791.00 plus benefits per annum
Permanent position: Subject to 12 months’ probation period.
Basic Requirements: An appropriate Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the post; must have five (5) years’ work experience in education and training environment must have experience in working at TVET College in the Occupational department; a sound and thorough knowledge of Occupational programmes; must have an understanding of DHET’s & College strategic vision and priorities; be knowledgeable of policies and legislation governing TVET Colleges in South Africa; a valid driver’s license; have the ability to engage constructively with people; have excellent communication skills; have very good ambassadorial and diplomatic skills; have the ability to manage a number of competing demands; be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances; be willing and able to exercise judgement and take risks; must have basic knowledge of applying for funding; knowledge of SETA’s and accreditation of programmes.
Key Responsible Areas: monitor the implementation of Occupational programme; monitor implementation of Academic Support to apprentices and learnership students; monitor the usage/ sharing of Sim & workshops; meaningful participation and support of the College Academic Board; provide strategic leadership regarding the proficient delivery of Occupational offering; responsible for the management of assessment process at the College; liaising with all staff e.g. Project managers and HoDs regarding assessment tools; draft and manage the college operational plans including imparting quality programme delivery to students; responsible for Occupational programme; formulate strategies and policies related to performance and ensure its implementation and target achievement as per the Monitoring and Evaluation tool; building a strong network of contacts with industries; monitor implementation of staff training in conjunction with other managers. Implementing NSD 111 in the college sector.

(Ref. no: WCC 76 / 17) Academic Support Coordinator – Central Office
Salary Level 2
Salary range: R 308 877. 00 – R 311 952. 00 plus benefits per annum
Permanent position: Subject to 12 months’ probation period.
Minimum requirements: Teaching qualification 3 years Diploma or 4 years Degree FET / TVET Phase; two years’ teaching experience in the specific department; registered assessor and moderator; good organisational and planning skills; knowledge of NC(V) and Report 191 programmes; ability to work under pressure; ability to coach other lecturers within the department; ability to teach relevant subjects; know the TVET Sector; able to adapt and be flexible towards the different learners needs; valid driver’s license; experience in supporting students with specific learning requirements; experience in working in the College sector; experience as an educator.
Key Responsible area: for ensuring student support runs effectively and to high standards in line with student centered approach; lead the co-ordination and delivery of academic Support within all 5 campuses of West Coast College; co-ordinate support staff, helping campuses in making initial contact with guest lecturers; draw up support plans and risk assessments; matching support staff and tutors and liaising with the institution; support the development of learning support centres; support the collections and collation of feedback and utilize feedback to develop the service and to ensure high quality delivery of academic support service; write and deliver reports for Deputy Principal Academic and campus management which may include reports on students’ performance and feedback; apply quality standards to all tasks undertaken and ensure that nothing is overlooked; confidentiality should be respected to agreed disclosure level.
Skills and Ability: Excellent communication skills; be able to establish and maintain professional boundaries; take a logical approach to problem – solving and pay close attention to detail; ability to understand the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions; must be mindful of company ethics in approach to work and clients at all time; must be proactive in the evolution of the company targets; must be willing to move around to campuses.
